Managing Principal
R. Brent Morrison, CPA, has
30 years' experience serving processing, agribusiness,
distribution, manufacturing, and other companies as an executive and advisor.
Brent was formerly Vice President and
Chief Financial Officer of Sunsweet Growers Inc., one of the nation's
premier producers of juices and dried fruit products. Before joining
Sunsweet, he was President of Butte County Rice Growers Association (BUCRA), an
agribusiness service and supply company.
While Senior
Manager with the “Big Four” accounting firm Deloitte, Brent led the Sacramento
office's Food & Consumer Products Industry Group and helped found and
direct the Sacramento office forensic accounting practice, assisting
clients with business-related legal issues. He was previously
controller for a manufacturer of heavy equipment and structural steel
components. He began his career with a predecessor firm of KPMG.
Brent holds a Bachelor of Science
degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant.
He is a graduate fellow of the California Agricultural Leadership
Program, a two-year educational fellowship hosted by four participating universities. He is a certified Six
Sigma “Champion,” the continuous process improvement methodology favored
by General Electric and other major manufacturers.
Brent is a member and past President of the Far
Western Chapter of the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives and
a past director of the California Agricultural Leadership Alumni. He has served
with many professional and civic organizations, including an appointment
to a state advisory board by then California Secretary of Food &
Agriculture (and later USDA Secretary) Ann Veneman. A published
writer, Brent wrote "The Brent Morrison Column," which appeared in
several western newspapers for over eight years.
Principal Geoffrey R. Chinnock, CPA,
joined Morrison & Company after three
years with the finance and accounting department of Feather River
Hospital in Paradise, California, where he played an integral part in
the hospital’s financial management.
Prior to joining Feather River
Hospital, Geoff served with local and regionally based CPA firms for
four years, providing advisory, tax, audit, and financial services to
independent business clients. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business
Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and is a member of the
National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives. He is a member
of the current class of the Butte Civic Pioneers leadership program.
Geoff works with Morrison & Company clients in industries
including manufacturing/processing, distribution, and marketing,
with a focus on cost controls, systems improvement, finance/accounting
efficiency, and short- and long-range planning. Additionally, he has served
several clients as an interim CFO or controller.

Consultant Stacy Kennedy, CPA,
works with Morrison & Company clients in industries including
agribusiness, alternative energy, real estate, manufacturing/processing,
distribution, marketing, and property management with a focus on profit
planning, systems improvement, finance/accounting efficiency, short- and
long-range planning, grants and grant-related projects.
Before joining Morrison, Stacy most recently served as Chief Financial
Officer at Allegro Ventures, Inc., a large multi-state property owner
and professional management company. Her professional experience
includes agribusiness, alternative energy, real estate, manufacturing,
and service industries.
Stacy’s past positions include Corporate Controller of ITEX Corporation,
CFO/COO for Paradise Valley Investment Group, and CFO/Director of
Detroit Building Blocks Management. For several years, Stacy served as
a professional speaker/trainer. She began her accounting career Arthur
Anderson and holds a bachelor’s degree from California State University,
Stanislaus.
Consultant Toni Scott
assists with research, project management, and grant proposals. She also coordinates
Morrison & Company's external communications and industry outreach.
Toni holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and agriculture
business from California State University, Chico, and a master’s degree
in print journalism from Boston University. She worked for the Chico
Enterprise-Record, a daily newspaper, for three years, covering city
government and stories related to business, agriculture, education, and
public safety.
Toni is
chair of the Butte County Young Farmers and Ranchers and vice-president
of the Chico Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Organization. She
is an appointed member of the City of Chico Sustainability Task Force, a
founding director of the Butte Agriculture Foundation, and is active in
California Women for Agriculture.
Toni and her colleagues won the top "Awards for Excellence in Health
Care Journalism" honor from the national Association of Health Care
Journalists for her work on a four-part investigative report in 2010.
She also
received the 2009 Butte County Farm Bureau Media Partner of the
Year award in recognition of her work covering agricultural issues.
In college, Toni was a member of Sigma Alpha, a national professional
agriculture sorority, and worked for the CSU Chico College
of Agriculture as a public information intern. She was a longtime 4-H
member and was active in FFA.
Consultant
Tim Peters, CPA, joined Morrison & Company from Matson and Isom, the
region’s leading public accounting firm. While there, Tim working in
the firm's tax and audit departments.
Tim assists Morrison & Company clients in industries including
agribusiness, alternative energy, manufacturing and processing,
distribution, and marketing, with a focus on cost controls, systems
improvement, finance and accounting efficiency and short-and long-range
planning.
Tim grew up in Willits, CA and is a graduate of California State
University, Chico, where he earned a degree in accounting. He is a
member of the Chico Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals
Organization.
Consultant Morgan
A. Chinnock
is a
consultant in our grant writing practice, assisting with grant
proposals, research, and grant administration. She led the
development of the
MorrisonGrants.com grants database and website.
Morgan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with an emphasis in
writing and has taught composition at the
college level. Her writing and research experience is broad and varied,
including technical writing, news articles and interviews, press
releases, and in-depth profiles. Morgan copyedited Pacific Union
College’s literary and art journal and ghostwrote "The War
Within," the
memoir of a German World War II survivor (published in 2009).
Morgan was a National Merit Scholarship Finalist and is a member of
Sigma Tau Delta, the
international English honors society.
She is currently completing a master's degree in English at University
of California, San Francisco.

Caitlin Villalobos, Administrative Assistant, pays the
bills, manages the files, and helps keep us organized and
efficient. She is also responsible for updating the
MorrisonGrants.com database of
over 3,000 programs.
Caitlin is currently completing a
degree in communication science and disorders. |
